LPG Cylinder Prices Remain Steady in Major Cities

New Delhi, November 2: LPG cylinder prices have remained unchanged as of today, with the cost of a domestic cylinder set at ₹942 in Delhi, ₹968 in Kolkata, ₹941.50 in Mumbai, and ₹957.50 in Chennai. This stability comes after a recent increase in commercial LPG cylinder prices, which rose by ₹10 to ₹2820 in Delhi and by ₹17 to ₹2971 in Kolkata on November 1.
Despite the rise in commercial rates, the price of the 14.2 kg domestic LPG cylinder has not seen an increase. The last adjustment in domestic LPG prices occurred on June 7, 2026, when the cost increased by ₹29. Over the course of this year, domestic cylinder prices have risen by a total of ₹79.
Historically, the price of a non-subsidized LPG cylinder in Delhi has fluctuated significantly. In November 2014, it was priced at ₹865, which dropped to ₹545 in November 2015. However, prices surged to over ₹1,100 between 2021 and 2023 before recent reductions provided some relief to consumers.
The Indian Oil Corporation (IOCL) has reported that the losses incurred by oil companies on LPG sales are increasing. In September, the loss per cylinder was ₹184, which escalated to ₹229 in October, with projections indicating it could reach ₹309 in November and ₹370 in December.
The rising losses do not necessarily mean an immediate hike in domestic LPG prices, as government policies and international energy market trends will play a crucial role in determining future pricing.
