Upon receiving information, Industrial police station in-charge Sanjay Kumar reached the spot and began investigating the matter.

According to villagers, all seven members of the family consumed pasta, followed by milk, after which their health rapidly deteriorated. Soon after, the father and son died, while the condition of the other members also became critical.

The deceased, Kishun Mahto (35) of Kushwaha Tola in Dahivar village, was part of a joint family of nine. On the night of the incident, seven members, including children, ate together, while two did not. Minutes after the meal, all seven started falling ill. They were rushed to Buxar Sadar Hospital, where Kishun Mahto and his son Amit died. The remaining five, including Kishun’s wife and two children, are currently undergoing treatment.

Of the seven people brought to the hospital, three were in critical condition and have been referred to another facility. Two deaths have been reported. Except for one woman, the condition of the remaining is now stable.
