ED Raids 25 Locations Linked to Al-Falah University, Probe Connects to Red Fort Blast Case

New Delhi (Udaipur Kiran). The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Tuesday morning raided 25 locations linked to Al-Falah University and associated individuals as part of a money laundering investigation. The action began simultaneously at 5 am across multiple sites. Central agencies probing the Delhi Red Fort blast and explosives recovered from Faridabad have reportedly found links to the university, prompting swift action.

The raids are part of an ongoing probe under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) involving allegations of financial irregularities. During the operation, ED officials also questioned university chairman Javed Ahmed Siddiqui, who had reportedly been missing for the past few days.

Nine Shell Companies Found Registered at One Address

Investigators discovered that nine shell companies linked to the group were registered at the same address. When officers reached the location, they found no staff or signs of electricity or water usage, suggesting the firms existed only on paper.

Multiple companies were found using the same mobile number and email ID, and no EPFO or ESIC records could be traced despite documents showing them as large businesses. The companies shared common directors, identical signatories and similar KYC documents. Bank records showed only nominal salary payments, and HR-related documentation was almost non-existent. The timeline of company formation also appeared suspicious.

During verification, investigators also found inconsistencies in the group’s claims regarding UGC and NAAC accreditations. Officials said the inquiry is ongoing and deeper scrutiny of seized documents and digital records will determine future action.

Two FIRs Already Registered Against University

Earlier, Delhi Police had registered two FIRs against Al-Falah University on charges of fraud and forgery based on complaints from the University Grants Commission (UGC). After alleged terror-module links surfaced, the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) terminated the university’s membership.

Police said the statement of Chairman Javed Ahmed Siddiqui is crucial for resolving several discrepancies. Meanwhile, the chancellor’s younger brother, Hamood Ahmed Siddiqui, was arrested in Hyderabad on Monday in connection with a nearly 25-year-old fraud case from Madhya Pradesh.

Red Fort Blast Planning Suspected on Campus

Investigating agencies believe Al-Falah University may have served as the epicentre of the Red Fort blast conspiracy, which claimed 14 lives. Preliminary findings indicate that planning for the high-intensity attack may have occurred within the campus. A detailed forensic examination of seized documents and electronic data is now underway.
