Chennai, 2 September (Kiran News): The Enforcement Directorate (ED) conducted raids at ten locations in Chennai on Tuesday as part of an investigation into alleged financial irregularities and disproportionate asset accumulation. The raids included premises belonging to Tamil Nadu Minister for Municipal Administration KN Nehru, his family members, and associates.

According to sources, ED teams searched properties in prominent areas such as Adyar, Teynampet, CIT Colony, and MRC Nagar. These locations are reportedly linked to the minister’s son, KN Arun, and brother, KN Ravi Chandran. Residences of Nehru’s brothers Manivannan and Ravi Chandran in Chennai and Coimbatore were also among those searched.
The ED is investigating possible financial misconduct involving politically connected individuals and entities in the state. The purpose of the raids was to collect evidence related to alleged money laundering under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).
The investigation is connected to a bank fraud case involving a company named Trudum EPC India Private Limited, in which KN Nehru’s brother, Ravi Chandran, is a director. The company allegedly committed fraud of Rs 22 crore with Indian Overseas Bank, prompting the ED to initiate a money laundering probe.
