Dubeys Explosive Half-Century Sets 194-Run Target for Netherlands in T20 World Cup

Ahmedabad, February 18: India has set a target of 194 runs for the Netherlands in the 36th match of the T20 World Cup 2026. Shivam Dubey played a stunning innings, scoring 66 runs with 10 boundaries.

In the final Group A match held at the Narendra Modi Stadium, the Indian team opted to bat after winning the toss but faced a poor start, losing 6 wickets and managing to score 193 runs in their allotted overs.

India suffered a major blow on the third ball of the match when Abhishek Sharma was dismissed for a duck, marking his third consecutive score of zero in this World Cup. Following this, Ishan Kishan and Tilak Varma formed a partnership, adding 39 runs for the second wicket in just 23 balls. Kishan faced only 7 balls, scoring 18 runs with 1 six and 2 fours.

Tilak Varma then added 30 runs for the third wicket with captain Suryakumar Yadav. Varma scored 31 runs with 4 boundaries. By the time the score reached 69, India had lost 3 wickets. Suryakumar then partnered with Shivam Dubey to add 41 runs for the fourth wicket in 27 balls, taking the team to a total of 110.

Captain Suryakumar returned to the pavilion after scoring 34 runs off 28 balls. Dubey then partnered with Hardik Pandya to add a massive 76 runs for the fifth wicket in 35 balls. Dubey scored 66 runs off 31 balls, hitting 6 sixes and 4 fours, while Pandya contributed 30 runs off 21 balls with 3 sixes. For the Netherlands, Logan van Beek took the most wickets, claiming 3, while Aryan Dutt took 2, and Kyle Klein secured 1 wicket.
