Bhubaneswar, October 8 (Udaipur Kiran): The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast the formation of a cyclonic circulation over the northern Bay of Bengal around October 10, which is expected to bring light to moderate rainfall across several parts of Odisha.

According to the Regional Meteorological Centre in Bhubaneswar, the system may gradually strengthen and influence the state’s weather over the next few days. As per the latest bulletin, widespread light to moderate rain is likely in many parts of Odisha between October 10 and 11.
For Wednesday, the IMD has issued a Yellow Alert for 20 districts, advising residents to stay alert against thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds. Light to moderate showers are expected during the evening and night hours in several of these districts.
Meteorologists noted that the cyclonic circulation is currently in its initial stage, and its movement and intensity will determine whether it evolves into a low-pressure area.
The IMD has also advised fishermen to closely monitor official weather forecasts and avoid venturing into the sea in the coming days, as marine conditions over the Bay of Bengal may turn unfavourable.
Residents of rural and coastal areas have been urged to exercise caution, as lightning strikes during thunderstorms could pose serious safety risks.
