Mumbai, May 1: The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 will see a crucial match between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Mumbai Indians (MI) on Saturday at the MA Chidambaram Stadium. Both teams are looking to turn their fortunes around and return to the winning path in this 44th match of the season.
Currently, CSK stands sixth in the points table, having lost five out of eight matches. After a six-day break, they are set to return to the field, following a disappointing defeat against Gujarat Titans, where they lost by eight wickets. In that match, CSK’s batsmen struggled against the experienced bowling attack.
On the other hand, MI is also coming off a shocking loss to Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). Despite setting a target of 244 runs, MI lost the match by six wickets, marking their sixth defeat out of eight games, placing them ninth in the points table. A win is crucial for them to avoid a disastrous season.
Both CSK and MI have each won the IPL title five times. They have faced each other 40 times, with MI winning 21 matches and CSK winning 19.
