Udaipur, April 9, 2026 (Udaipur Kiran): The Indian Constitution will be unveiled in the Sindhi language on April 10 at the Vice President’s Enclave in New Delhi, marking a significant moment for the Sindhi community. Former Chairman of the Rajasthan Sindhi Academy, Harish Rajani, has been invited as a guest for the ceremony.
Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Law and Justice, Arjun Ram Meghwal, has extended a special invitation for the event. The unveiling will be conducted by Vice President C. P. Radhakrishnan at 10:30 am. The Constitution will be released in Sindhi language in both Devanagari and Persian scripts.
The programme is being organised by the Legislative Department of the Ministry of Law and Justice under its Official Language division and regional unit.
Expressing his views on the occasion, Harish Rajani thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and described the initiative as a proud moment for the Sindhi community. He said that for lakhs of Sindhis who came to India after Partition, this is a valuable opportunity to connect with their language.
Rajani will be accompanied by Sindhi community representatives from Udaipur, including Kamal Pahuja and Ashok Lijra.
The Ministry of Law and Justice is working to make the Constitution and legal texts accessible in regional languages as part of the vision for a developed India by 2047. In recent years, efforts have been made to translate the Constitution into languages listed in the Eighth Schedule. The Sindhi version is part of these ongoing initiatives.
