BSNL 4G: BSNL has finally launched 4G services, which is a major improvement for the national telecom. The company aims to provide ultra-fast connectivity across the country. BSNL is rolling out 4G services across the country and has also started testing 5G technology to compete with private players. Additionally, BSNL is already offering 5G enabled SIM cards to its users.
With more than 15,000 4G locations, BSNL has now reached a milestone. Launched under the Atma Nirbhar Bharat initiative, these locations will ensure seamless connectivity across India, the company said. What is noteworthy is that BSNL’s 4G services rely entirely on indigenous technology and these cell towers are equipped with Indian-made equipment.
BSNL 4G deployment schedule
Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia recently announced the plan to launch BSNL’s 4G services across the country and also outlined the expected timeline for launching BSNL’s 5G services.
Jyotiraditya Scindia said 80,000 towers would be installed by the end of October and the remaining 21,000 by March next year. This means that a total of 100,000 masts for 4G networks will be installed by March 2025. He emphasized that these improvements will enable faster downloads and improved TV streaming.
BSNL 5G deployment
Apart from launching 4G, BSNL has started testing 5G. Union Communications Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia recently held a video call on BSNL’s 5G network, which is based on indigenous technology. This has created a lot of expectations for BSNL’s upcoming 5G services.
State-owned telecommunications companies have started offering 5G-enabled SIM cards to new users, fueling speculation about the rollout of 5G services in the coming months. Additionally, BSNL’s 5G services are currently being tested at the C-DoT campus and will be tested in several cities in the coming weeks.
To revive BSNL and strengthen its network, the central government has allocated over Rs 83,000 crore in this year’s budget. This significant budget will help BSNL modernize its network and improve its quality of service.
