Chandigarh: A shocking incident took place in the posh Sector 10 area of Chandigarh when three unidentified individuals hurled a grenade at a house. The blast created a 7-8 inch deep crater and shattered the windows of the house.
The attackers arrived in an auto-rickshaw and fled from the scene in the same vehicle after carrying out the attack. As soon as the police received information about the blast, a high alert was sounded. DGP Surendra Singh Yadav, along with IG Rajkumar and SSP Kanwardeep Kaur, reached the spot with a heavy police force.
Bomb disposal and dog squads have also been called to the scene for investigation. Additionally, a forensic team has been summoned to examine the materials used in the blast. The incident occurred at house number 575 in Sector 10. The family was inside the house at the time of the incident.
Area Sealed, Family Questioned: The area has been cordoned off, and the police are questioning the family members to ascertain the motive behind the attack. The police are also trying to find out if the family had any disputes or enemies.
SSP Says it was a Pressure Blast: SSP Kanwardeep Kaur informed that they received a call about the blast on the emergency number 112. She stated that it was a pressure blast that damaged the flower pots and shattered the windows of the house. The family has told the police that two people arrived in an auto-rickshaw and carried out the attack.
