Patna, November 9 (Udaipur Kiran) — The campaign for the Bihar Assembly elections will conclude this evening, with top leaders and major political parties making their final efforts to woo voters on Sunday. Voting for the second and final phase will be held on November 11, while the counting of votes and results will be announced on November 14 (Friday)
In this phase, polling will take place across 122 assembly constituencies in 20 districts of Bihar. The election for all 243 seats in the state assembly is primarily a contest between the ruling NDA alliance and the opposition bloc, though the Jansuraj Party is also emerging as a notable contender in several seats.
Voting for the last phase will begin at 7 a.m. on November 11, and the Election Commission has set up 45,399 polling booths across the state for smooth conduct. The constituencies going to polls include West and East Champaran, Sheohar, Sitamarhi, Madhubani, Supaul, Araria, Kishanganj, Purnia, Katihar, Bhagalpur, Banka, Kaimur, Rohtas, Arwal, Jehanabad, Aurangabad, Gaya, Nawada, and Jamui.
In the first phase, held on November 6, Bihar recorded a high voter turnout of 65.6%, the highest in recent years. Observers expect a similar level of participation in the second phase as voters once again turn out in large numbers to decide the state’s political future.
