New Delhi, February 14: A high-voltage T20 World Cup match between India and Pakistan is set to take place this Sunday at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. Pakistani batsman Babar Azam has advised his young players on how to handle the pressure against India, sharing a mantra for success.
Babar emphasized the importance of remaining calm and ignoring external noise to perform better. In a video shared on the social media platform X by ESPNcricinfo, he stated, “We have played many matches. We have learned that the calmer you remain and the less you listen to outside noise, the better it will be. Staying focused helps a lot. From our experience, we tell the youth that the more carefree you are, the better it will be for you.”
The 31-year-old batsman acknowledged the intensity of India-Pakistan matches, saying, “As we discussed, the India-Pakistan match is always high-intensity. The eyes of the whole world are on this contest. It takes things to a different level, and expectations rise significantly.”
Pakistan’s only victory against India in the T20 World Cup came when Babar Azam, as captain, scored an unbeaten 68 runs, partnering with Mohammad Rizwan for a 152-run stand, leading Pakistan to a 10-wicket win.
Currently, Pakistan is positioned second in Group A after losing both of their initial matches in the T20 World Cup 2026. Babar managed only 15 runs against the Netherlands but bounced back with a score of 46 against the USA.
