Director James Cameron’s highly anticipated film “Avatar: Fire and Ash” has made a strong presence at the Indian box office. Released on December 19, the movie has captured audience attention over the first three days. It has received positive reviews from both viewers and critics. However, it has not been able to surpass the pace set by Ranveer Singh’s blockbuster film ‘Dhurandhar’ at the box office.
Impressive Earnings in Three Days
According to a report by Sacnilk, ‘Avatar: Fire and Ash’ earned a remarkable ₹25 crore on its first Sunday, December 21, at the Indian box office. Prior to that, the film collected ₹22.25 crore on Saturday and ₹19 crore on its opening day. In total, the film has made ₹66.25 crore in India within its initial three days. The highest revenues are coming from 3D and IMAX formats, where large crowds are being witnessed.
Third Installment Trails Behind Avatar 2
Despite a strong start in India, ‘Avatar: Fire and Ash’ has not matched the figures of its predecessor ‘Avatar: The Way of Water.’ Released in 2022, ‘Avatar 2’ earned approximately ₹128.8 crore in its first three days at the Indian box office. A major reason for the lower collection this time is the continued success of Ranveer Singh’s ‘Dhurandhar,’ which has already crossed ₹555.75 crore in 17 days and remains firmly strong.
