Jaipur, May 5, 2026 (Udaipur Kiran): The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has arrested an Assistant Sub-Inspector and a middleman, a former councillor, while allegedly accepting a bribe of ₹1,00,000 in Dungarpur.

Acting on directions from ACB headquarters, the Dungarpur unit conducted a trap operation and caught middleman Dayalal Patidar red-handed while accepting the bribe on behalf of Assistant Sub-Inspector Madanlal. Both accused were arrested during the operation.
Director General of Police, ACB, Govind Gupta said that a complaint was received alleging that the ASI posted at Cyber Police Station, Dungarpur had threatened the complainant. The officer allegedly claimed that the complainant, his daughter, and son-in-law would be arrested in a fraud case involving bank transactions.
According to the complaint, the accused demanded a bribe in exchange for removing the names of the complainant’s daughter and son-in-law from the case and for extending help in the matter. The demand was verified on May 5, following which the trap was laid.
Under the supervision of DIG Rameshwar Singh, the operation was led by Deputy Superintendent of Police Ratan Singh Rajpurohit. The accused were caught while accepting the bribe amount through the middleman.
Further questioning and legal proceedings are ongoing under the supervision of Additional Director General of Police Smita Srivastava and Inspector General S. Parimala. A case has been registered under the Prevention of Corruption Act, and further investigation is underway.
