Etawah : Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav along with his wife Dimple and other members of his extended family cast their votes in their native Saifai here on Sunday.
Saifai comes under Jaswantnagar assembly segment from where Shivpal Singh Yadav, uncle of Akhilesh is contesting on an SP ticket. After exercising his franchise, exuding confidence Akhilesh Yadav told media persons that BJP is going to be defeated in this elections. “Farmers of UP won’t forgive them. We’ve hit century in first 2 phases and even in this phase SP and its alliance would be ahead of everyone else,” he claimed.
Akhilesh Yadav is contesting from the nearby Karhal assembly seat. In a rare moment, Shivpal Singh Yadav and his cousin Prof Ram Gopal Yadav was seen together at the polling booth where they also cast their votes. SP patriarch Mulayam Singh Yadav too will cast his vote. Earlier Shivpal took the blessings of Mulayam Singh before reaching the polling booth to cast his vote.
