Udaipur : Two youths from Dungarpur district in Rajasthan were arrested by the Delhi Police Crime Branch on Tuesday for printing and circulating fake currency notes. The accused, Lokesh Yadav and Himanshu Jain, were arrested with fake currency notes worth around ₹6 lakh.
The police said that the gang was led by Shakur, a resident of Nagaur district in Rajasthan. He got the idea of starting the gang after watching a web series. He recruited Lokesh Yadav, Shiv, Sanjay, and Himanshu Jain for the gang. The gang started printing fake currency notes and circulating them in the Delhi-NCR region. They would sell the fake notes to small businesses.
Himanshu Jain, who had a BA degree, was responsible for finding customers for the fake notes. He recruited Lokesh Yadav, who also had a BA degree and a BEd degree, to deliver the notes to customers and to collect money from them. Lokesh’s father, Ranjeet Yadav, is a laborer in the building construction industry.
The Delhi Police Crime Branch got a tip-off about the gang and sent a bogus customer to contact them. The customer met Shakur from Nagaur and Lokesh Yadav from Dungarpur in Delhi, where they were arrested with fake currency notes worth around ₹6 lakh. The police also recovered fake currency note printing equipment, fake currency notes, fake checks, and other documents from the accused.
The police have registered a case against the accused and are investigating the matter further.
