Jaipur: 11 officers from Rajasthan Administrative Service (RAS) have been promoted to Indian Administrative Service (IAS). The Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) has issued orders for their promotion. All 11 officers are from the 1997 batch of RAS. These officers were promoted to IAS based on the 2023 vacancy.
The officers who have been promoted include Shahin Ali Khan, Akash Tomar, Arun Kumar Haseja, Manish Goyal, Matadeen Meena, Kamal Ram Meena, Kesar Lal Meena, Himmat Singh Barahat, Purushottam Sharma, Dewaram Saini, and Ajay Aswal.
Dewaram Saini was once OSD (Officer on Special Duty) to former CM Ashok Gehlot. Shahin Ali and Ajay Aswal also worked as Joint Secretaries in the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) during Gehlot’s government. Purushottam Sharma served as Director in the Directorate of Information and Public Relations (DIPR) during Gehlot’s tenure.
Purushottam Sharma is currently Additional Divisional Commissioner in Sikar. Shahin Ali Khan is now Additional Director at HCM RIPA Jaipur and was previously Joint Secretary in the CMO.
Akash Tomar is currently Additional Divisional Commissioner in Ajmer. He was earlier Special Assistant to Sachin Pilot when he was Deputy CM and also served as Special Assistant to former Transport Minister Brijendra Singh Ola.
Ajay Aswal is currently Additional Commissioner in the College Education Department. He also worked as Joint Secretary in the CMO from 2022 to 2024 during Ashok Gehlot’s government.
Arun Kumar Haseja is currently Additional Commissioner in the Excise Department. He previously served as Secretary of UIT in Udaipur and worked in the Finance Department for 2 years.
Manish Goyal is currently Joint Secretary in the Education Department. Before this, he was CEO of the Voluntary Area Development in the Planning Department. Matadeen Meena is Director at the Oriental Research Institute in Jodhpur. He was also a Special Assistant to the Education Minister during Govind Singh Dotasra’s term.
Kamal Ram Meena is Joint Secretary in PWD, while Kesar Lal Meena is Additional Director in the Department of Social Justice and Empowerment. Himmat Singh Barahat is currently Registrar of Mahatma Gandhi Divyang University in Jodhpur and has served as Secretary of UIT Chittorgarh, Commissioner of Udaipur Municipal Corporation, and Registrar of Sukhadia University.
