While the Huawei first tri-fold smartphone Mate XT Ultimate Design is already under process, you can expect that the plans by its competitor to bring similar devices in the market would be heard. It is recently that a report shone light on an upcoming tri-fold smartphone by the brand Xiaomi, and we finally get more information about that device. Interestingly enough, we found information regarding another tri-fold smartphone from Xiaomi, which shall hit the markets later. However, the launch of the second device may solely depend on the success of the first tri-fold model.
SmartPrix has leaked renders of the tri-fold smartphone from Xiaomi. In this case though, we have schematics that led to earlier design reveals of Xiaomi’s purported triple folding phone.
According to the publication, Xiaomi is to unveil its two tri-fold phone models, the second one allegedly – in 2026. Earlier, the company’s renders leak represented the first smartphone with this design. The code name for this smartphone is ‘zhuque’, or ‘an early emperor, a high-ranking deity in Chinese mythology’.
The report further states that the first model, ‘2503FVPB1C’, is set for release in March 2025. Although the design details about this product were leaked out already in tri-fold form, says the publication, this too would be Xiaomi’s first button-less device.
Xiaomi earlier launched the Mi Mix Alpha, the concept phone from Xiaomi that comes with a “wraparound” display. It only had one button at the top, while other controls were spread around the sides of its display. It was meant to be in mass production, but it appears Xiaomi has put down its plan, and this is due to manufacturing issues, albeit vague.
The second tri-fold smartphone is rumored to appear in 2026. A model number given to the present version of this device is ‘26013VP46C.’ The model number is said to imply it will indeed be announced in January 2026, or somewhere in the first quarter of 2026.
C’ in the model number also signifies that the device is exclusively for the Chinese market. The source further adds that 2026 tri-fold model will be powered with the successor to the much-rumored Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset that is supposed to be unveiled in late 2025.
This leak also reveals that Xiaomi will release the 2026 tri-fold – though both appear to be under development – based on the reaction that the first model receives. In other words, if the reception to the button-less tri-fold does not turn out too great, then perhaps the 2026 model might never see the light of day after all.
The ‘zhuque’ model, the company is purported to be working on, is said to be a China-only model. A XiaomiTime report earlier stated that apart from its button-less design, the ‘zhuque’ will also boast of satellite communication and under-display (invisible) selfie camera, which would translate into all-screen design with no visible camera.
