Weather Likely to Change Again Next Week in Rajasthan

Jaipur, February 13 (Udaipur Kiran): Rajasthan may witness another change in weather next week, with the possibility of light rainfall at some places due to a fresh western disturbance.

According to the Meteorological Department, light cloud cover across several parts of the state on Thursday led to a drop in temperature. Cool winds during the morning and evening hours increased the chill. In the Shekhawati region, minimum temperatures fell by nearly four degrees Celsius in Sikar, Churu and Fatehpur.

The lowest minimum temperature was recorded at 5.9 degrees Celsius in Fatehpur. Churu recorded 9.4 degrees, Sikar 9.5 degrees, Karauli and Pali 9.6 degrees each, and Lunkaransar 7.9 degrees Celsius. On the other hand, maximum temperatures crossed 31 degrees Celsius in Barmer and Chittorgarh. Minimum temperatures remained above 15 degrees Celsius in Jaipur, Barmer, Phalodi, Jalore and Pratapgarh.

During the past 24 hours, most districts of the state witnessed light cloud cover.

Weather experts said that a weak western disturbance led to cloud formation, but rainfall did not occur due to low moisture levels. The light cold winds between cloud cover resulted in a drop in temperature.

As per the two-week forecast issued by the Jaipur Meteorological Centre, another change in weather is likely after February 18. A fresh western disturbance may become active during this period, bringing chances of cloud cover and light rainfall at isolated places. However, the impact of cold conditions is expected to gradually reduce after February 15, with both maximum and minimum temperatures likely to remain above normal.

The Meteorological Department has advised farmers and the general public to remain alert in view of the possible weather changes.
