(Udaipur Kiran) — Vodafone Idea Limited (VIL), India’s third-largest telecom operator, has launched its Unlimited 5G services across several major cities. Although the rollout pace remains gradual compared to rivals Reliance Jio and Bharti Airtel, it marks a significant step for the financially stressed operator as it looks to strengthen its 5G footprint and improve business performance.

According to the company, Vodafone Idea Unlimited 5G is now available in the following cities:
Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, Mysuru, Patna, Nagpur, Jaipur, Sonipat, Chandigarh, Ahmedabad, Rajkot, Surat, Vadodara, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Nashik, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Meerut, Visakhapatnam, Madurai, Agra, Kochi, Thiruvananthapuram, Pune, Siliguri, Indore, Kolkata, Lucknow and Dehradun.
Eligibility for Vodafone Idea 5G offer
To enjoy unlimited 5G data, customers must:
-
Own a 5G-enabled smartphone.
-
Recharge with a minimum Rs 299 plan (prepaid) or a minimum Rs 451 plan (postpaid).
In select circles, Vodafone Idea may revise the introductory price of Rs 299, making it slightly higher to access the 5G benefit.
While Airtel and Jio also provide unlimited 5G offers, Jio is currently the only operator offering truly unlimited 5G data. Both Airtel and Vodafone Idea reportedly cap their 5G data usage at 300GB per billing cycle.
Users are advised to ensure their network settings allow automatic connection to 5G. Once within a 5G-covered area, their phones will automatically switch to the 5G network.
