Lucknow, December 28 – In view of the increasing cold wave and severe chill in Uttar Pradesh, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has issued special instructions to all officials. All schools up to 12th grade in the state will remain closed until January 1, 2026. The government has also been directed to ensure full arrangements for night shelters and bonfires, along with continuous monitoring of affected areas.
CM Yogi stated that considering the severity of the weather, all ICSE, CBSE, and UP Board schools up to class 12 will remain closed until January 1. Officials have been instructed to take all possible measures to protect people from the cold.
The Chief Minister emphasized that adequate arrangements for blankets and bonfires should be made in all districts to keep those in need safe. He strongly urged that no one should sleep in the open, and those requiring help should be provided facilities in night shelters.
Officials have been ordered to remain vigilant and conduct regular inspections during the cold wave to promptly address any issues and continue providing assistance to the public.
Further instructions have been given to ensure sufficient facilities at all night shelters and to be ready to protect citizens from the cold under any circumstances.
CM Yogi Adityanath stressed that public safety and health remain the highest priority, and no risk should be taken during this cold season.
He highlighted that serving and safeguarding the 25 crore residents of the state is the top priority. The government has allocated adequate funds for establishing night shelters across all districts and distributing blankets to those in need.
On Sunday, the Chief Minister inspected night shelters in Transport Nagar and Dharamshala market areas of Gorakhpur city, where blankets and food were distributed to the needy.
