Municipal Corporation Takes Stern Action Against UD Tax Defaulters
The Udaipur Municipal Corporation (UMC) has launched an aggressive drive against Urban Development (UD) tax defaulters, sealing multiple commercial properties in a bid to recover long-pending dues.
In the latest enforcement action, the corporation’s revenue department sealed the Food Corporation of India (FCI) warehouse and three shops, all of which had significant outstanding UD tax liabilities.

📌 FCI Warehouse (Purohito Ki Maddi, Udaipur):
- Total Outstanding UD Tax: ₹4,89,964
- Status: Sealed due to non-payment
📌 Three Commercial Shops (Shakti Nagar, Nirala Marg):
- Total Outstanding UD Tax: ₹5,07,833
- Status: Sealed until dues are cleared
Despite repeated notices and reminders, the property owners failed to settle their dues, prompting the corporation to take direct action. The seizure notices were prominently displayed, and commercial activities on these premises were forcibly halted.

Municipal Commissioner Ram Prakash directed the revenue department to execute tax recoveries under the Rajasthan Municipality Act 2009 and relevant government notifications.
