Udaipur, Rajasthan — Preparations are in full swing for the 9th edition of the Shri Shyam Mahotsav, scheduled to be held from May 8 to May 10, 2025. To promote the grand event, a specially designed Shri Shyam Rath was ceremoniously flagged off by Member of Parliament Dr. Mannalal Rawat from the historic Bohra Ganeshji Temple in Udaipur on Saturday morning.

Shri Shyam Rath Flagged Off with Religious Fervor
The Shri Khatu Shyam Mitra Mandal Trust has meticulously organized the promotional campaign. The Shyam Rath, adorned with devotional music and vibrant decorations, will travel across both urban and rural areas of Udaipur, inviting devotees to the three-day spiritual festival. MP Mannalal Rawat, along with several Trust members, initiated the campaign by offering prayers at Bohra Ganeshji Temple. After a traditional Swastik ritual and ceremonial worship, he unfurled the sacred Nishan Flag to launch the Rath.
Speaking at the ceremony, Dr. Rawat praised the Trust’s efforts, emphasizing the significance of upholding religious traditions in contemporary times. “Religious values are essential today, given the growing influence of negative forces,” he remarked.
Star-Studded Performances to Illuminate the Mahotsav
The main highlight of this year’s Mahotsav will be the captivating performance by renowned devotional singer Nandu Maharaj. Joining him will be other celebrated artists including Naresh Saini from Gurugram, Bantu Bhaiya from Najafgarh, and Delhi-based artists Mahaveer Agarwal Vasu and Mayur Rastogi.
The event is set to take place at Fateh School Grounds, Udaipur, a central location that can accommodate thousands of devotees.
Three Days of Spiritual Festivities
The Mahotsav will commence with a grand Nishan Yatra on May 8, featuring more than 1,100 Shyam devotees. The procession will start from Fateh School Grounds at 6 PM and traverse through key streets of Udaipur. For the first time, a city tour of Baba Khatu Shyam’s Rath will also be organized.
On May 9, women devotees will participate in the Mehendi Rasam, applying traditional henna in devotion to Baba Shyam.
The main event on May 10 will be an evening of Shri Shyam Kirtan, beginning at 7:15 PM and continuing until late into the night, based on divine will.
Organizers Krishna Kant Agarwal and Puneet Agarwal confirmed that preparations are underway to ensure the Mahotsav is a spiritually enriching and memorable experience for all attendees.
