Udaipur Choreographer Murders Girlfriend in Hotel Over Engagement Dispute; Attempts Suicide
Udaipur, June 25 — In a shocking incident, a choreographer in Udaipur allegedly murdered his girlfriend in a hotel room after an argument over her engagement to another man. The accused, identified as Vijay Bhoy, later attempted to take his own life by slashing his wrist with a blade. The incident occurred in the Hiran Magri area of the city.

According to Station House Officer Bharat Yogi, the victim, Nikita Trivedi, a nursing student, was originally from Rishabhdev and had been living in Udaipur with her brother while pursuing her studies at a private college.
Relationship Turned Tragic After Engagement
Police investigations revealed that the two had met through Instagram and were in a relationship known to both families. After learning about their affair, Nikita’s family intervened, arranged her engagement with another man, and initially brought her back to her village. Following her engagement, Nikita stopped communicating with Vijay.
Recently, Nikita’s family had sent her back to Udaipur to complete her studies. Vijay requested one last meeting, and on Monday, the two met at Hotel Casa Gold near Parshuram Circle.
An argument reportedly broke out between the couple over Nikita’s engagement. In a fit of rage, Vijay allegedly slammed her head against the wall, causing her to lose consciousness and die on the spot.
Failed Suicide Attempt, Body Found Later
Following the assault, Vijay attempted suicide by cutting his wrist with a blade but could not endure the pain. Instead of informing anyone, he fled to MB Hospital, where he was admitted for treatment.
Nikita’s body remained in the hotel room overnight. The incident only came to light the next morning when hotel staff entered the room for cleaning and discovered the body.
Police reached the scene after being alerted by the hotel staff. Using CCTV footage and the identification records provided at check-in, investigators were able to trace Vijay. An investigation is underway, and forensic experts from the FSL team have collected evidence from the scene.
