Four Doctors Arrested for Fake MBBS Certificates in Jaipur
Four doctors were arrested in Jaipur for using fake MBBS certificates to practice in India after studying abroad.
Jaipur, October 15 (Udaipur Kiran) : A significant fraud involving fake MBBS certificates has been uncovered in Jaipur, leading to the arrest of four doctors. These individuals had obtained their medical degrees from foreign institutions but resorted to falsifying their credentials to practice in India.
The Rajasthan Special Operations Group (SOG) arrested the doctors for acquiring fraudulent Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE) certificates, which are required for foreign-trained doctors to register with the Rajasthan Medical Council. Investigations revealed that these doctors, who returned from Russia and Kyrgyzstan, had not passed the necessary examinations. Instead, they paid between ₹27 to ₹30 lakh to obtain fake certificates.
Using these counterfeit documents, the accused managed to register with the medical council and began internships at various medical colleges in Rajasthan. The SOG is actively investigating this extensive network of fake medical degrees, having already identified over 100 individuals involved in the scheme. Previously, 33 people, including the registrar of the Rajasthan Medical Council, had been arrested in connection with this case.
The recent SOG operations have sent shockwaves through the medical community, prompting the agency to search for additional suspects linked to the fraudulent network.
In a related incident, the Delhi Police recently exposed a major inter-state racket that produced fake certificates for persons with disabilities (PWD). This network allegedly provided these certificates for college admissions and undergraduate courses, leading to the arrest of nine individuals and the recovery of 27 counterfeit disability certificates.
The investigation suggests that this racket manipulated records within various Chief Medical Officer offices in Uttar Pradesh, creating fake medical reports and disability certificates.
