Bhopal, March 5: In a significant ticket checking campaign, the Bhopal Rail Division has recovered over ₹36 crore in the past 11 months. According to official information released by the railway authorities, the commercial department’s coordinated efforts from April 2025 to February 2026 have led to a total of 569,623 cases during ticket inspections, generating ₹36.30 crore in revenue. This includes 279,940 cases of traveling without a ticket, 286,997 cases of traveling with improper tickets, and 2,686 cases involving unbooked luggage.
In February alone, the ticket checking campaign resulted in 23,431 cases of ticketless travel, 25,971 cases of improper tickets, and 272 cases of unbooked luggage, yielding ₹3.10 crore in revenue for the Bhopal division.
The increase in revenue for the Bhopal Rail Division is attributed to the diligent efforts of the ticket checking staff. Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Saurabh Kataria has urged passengers to travel with valid tickets to avoid any inconvenience during their journeys.
