Three Arrested in Charkhi Dadri Shooting Incident

Udaipur, August 8: In a significant development in the shooting incident outside the Charkhi Dadri police station in Haryana, the main accused, Rohit Katiya, has been arrested following an encounter with the police. Superintendent of Police Logesh Kumar has suspended six police personnel from the Quick Response Team (QRT) for negligence while stationed at the main gate of the court premises.

DSP Dheeraj Kumar informed reporters that the police received a tip-off regarding the accused’s movement on the Bound-Kalanour link road. Acting on this information, the police set up a blockade and began checking vehicles. During this operation, a white car was signaled to stop.

According to police reports, as soon as the accused exited the vehicle, he opened fire on the police team, with one bullet striking the bumper of a police vehicle. The police warned the accused to surrender, but he fired again, prompting the police to retaliate in self-defense, injuring him in the leg. The police managed to apprehend him at the scene, recovering an illegal pistol during the search. The injured accused has been admitted to the hospital, and evidence has been collected by the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) team and the Scene of Crime team.

The initial shooting incident resulted in injuries to seven individuals. The DSP revealed that six of the injured have criminal records. Amit from Fatehgarh has 21 cases registered against him, including murder charges. Vijay alias Sunny has six cases, Ankit son of Satbir has five, while Krishna, Kirtiman, and Surajmal each have one criminal case registered against them. Notably, injured Ankit son of Suresh has no criminal record.

The shooting occurred approximately 50 meters from the police station after exiting the court premises, where the QRT team is responsible for security. Due to this negligence, the SP has suspended the six police personnel stationed at the main gate. The police are actively pursuing the arrest of other individuals involved in the incident, with officials emphasizing that strict action will continue against those disrupting law and order.
