Tecno Camon 30 series was launched globally at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2024 in February this year. The collection has since been launched in select markets worldwide. It is expected to launch in India soon. This series has four versions: Tecno Camon 30 4G, Tecno Camon 30 5G, Tecno Camon 30 Pro 5G and Tecno Camon 30 Premier 5G. The company has now revealed the software support details for these phones.
Tecno announced via a social media post that the Tecno Camon 30 series smartphones will receive two major Android upgrades to Android 16 and 36 months (or 3 years) of security patches. It’s worth noting that the Tecno Camon 30 runs HiOS 14 based on Android 14 out of the box.
Meanwhile, it has been confirmed that the Tecno Camon 30 5G series will soon be available in India. An Amazon microsite was recently launched revealing details about the upcoming phone. This company will introduce two models in the country: Tecno Camon 30 5G and Tecno Camon 30 Premier 5G.
The exact launch date of the Tecno Camon 30 5G series in India is yet to be confirmed. This smartphone has a Sony Lytia camera. It’s also available in a black and white variant made from vegan leather and a sharp white finish.
The Indian version of Tecno Camon 30 5G and Camon 30 Premier 5G is expected to be similar to the global version. These are likely to be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7020 SoC and MediaTek Dimensity 8200 SoC respectively. The device can be powered by a 5000mAh battery that supports wired fast charging up to 70W.
As far as optics are concerned, the Tecno Camon 30 5G is likely to have a 50-megapixel main sensor and a 2-megapixel depth sensor on the back. The Premier variant has a 50-megapixel main sensor with optical image stabilization (OIS), another 50-megapixel sensor with up to 3x optical zoom, and a third sensor with an ultra-wide-angle lens with a 50-megapixel sensor. Both models are said to have a 50-megapixel selfie camera.
