Nepal: Evacuation of Kailash Mansarovar pilgrims completed

The remaining 160 pilgrims in Simikot and Hilsa were airlifted this morning. In a massive exercise undertaken by the Embassy of India over 1400 pilgrims were evacuated from Simikot in last five days. Nepal: Evacuation of stranded pilgrims in full swing

336 stranded pilgrims were airlifted from Simikot to Surkhet on Wednesday and sent to Nepalgunj by the buses. 250 people were brought to Simikot from Hilsa. The number of stranded pilgrims at resource lean Hilsa has been drastically brought down.   The Indian Embassy has said that situation is under control and there is no need to panic. The Mission has also said that only one ... Nepal: Rescue operation in full swing to evacuate Mansarovar yatra pilgrims

73 pilgrims were evacuated through 5 commercial flight this morning and another 23 were airlifted by Nepal Army helicopter. 158 pilgrims were evacuated yesterday. 250 pilgrims were also brought to Simikot from Hilsa by helicopters.
