Jaipur, May 17 — After remaining grounded for two weeks at Jaipur International Airport, a U.S. Air Force C-17 Globemaster aircraft has finally been repaired by a technical team from the Indian Air Force (IAF). The aircraft had suffered a technical failure in its landing gear, which halted its departure after loading sensitive security equipment and vehicles.

The C-17 was deployed to retrieve security assets used during the recent visit of U.S. Vice President JD Vance to India. While preparing for take-off, a mechanical fault in the landing wheel prevented the aircraft from leaving Jaipur, forcing it to remain parked at the airport’s secure bay for over two weeks.
🤝 Indian and U.S. Teams Collaborate for Repairs
Despite continuous efforts by the U.S. Air Force’s own technical crew, the issue remained unresolved for several days. Finally, on Saturday, a specialized technical team from the Indian Air Force was dispatched to assist. Working jointly with the American personnel, the IAF team successfully rectified the malfunction in the landing gear mechanism.
Visuals from the airport showed technicians from both nations working side-by-side, underscoring the growing operational synergy between Indian and U.S. defense forces.
🛫 Aircraft Expected to Depart Within 24 Hours
With the repair now completed, the C-17 Globemaster is expected to depart for the United States within the next 24 hours. The aircraft is carrying specialized security vehicles and electronic surveillance equipment previously deployed during JD Vance’s official visit.
📸 Globemaster Incident Gained Social Media Attention
During its extended stay in Jaipur, the presence of the massive military cargo aircraft became a topic of curiosity and speculation. Images of the stranded C-17, especially amid regional tensions between India and Pakistan, went viral on social media platforms. However, officials have clarified that the stop was purely logistical and not connected to any military operation.
🇮🇳🤝🇺🇸 Strategic Cooperation in Action
The incident not only highlights the complex logistical networks of global diplomacy and defense but also showcases the deepening military and technical cooperation between India and the United States. The successful collaboration in resolving the issue has been quietly appreciated by both sides.
