Samsung is said to be working on a fan version of the Galaxy S24. The company launched the Galaxy S24 series of smartphones earlier this year, and the Galaxy S24 FE, a variant of Samsung’s flagship, could also launch later this year.
Now a fan edition device has been spotted online and the listing apparently mentions the name and model number of the smartphone.
Android Headlines reports that the Samsung Galaxy S24 FE has been spotted online, citing the phone’s manufacturer, market name, brand and model number. The Galaxy S24 FE was reported with model numbers SM-S721B, SM-S721U, SM-S721W and SM-S721N.
According to the report, the next device will not only be sold globally but will also be officially launched in markets such as the US, South Korea and Canada.
Further details, such as the specifications or when the Galaxy S24 FE will be launched, were not revealed in the listing. Samsung has not yet confirmed its plans for this device.
However, several reports and rumors suggest that the company is trying to launch the phone later this year or early 2025.
Reports earlier this week suggested that the South Korean tech giant is developing a new smartphone codenamed “R12.” The codename refers to the previous phones in the Fan Edition series.
The Galaxy S23 FE was associated with the code R11. So the R12 could point to the upcoming Galaxy S24 FE.
Furthermore, the report also claims that the launch plans of the phone, which was initially scheduled to launch this summer, may have been delayed.
According to the current development status, the Galaxy S24 FE should come onto the market at the end of 2024 or beginning of 2025.
Earlier this month, it was reported that the phone would launch earlier than the usual release cycle for fan edition smartphones.
The Samsung Galaxy S23 FE was launched in October last year, but its successor is scheduled to arrive in summer 2024.
Little is known about Samsung’s next smartphone, but rumors suggest that the Galaxy S24 FE will already have a 6.1-inch AMOLED display. The phone is expected to run on an Exynos 2400 or Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, depending on the market.
