Jaipur, May 1: Rajasthan Governor Haribhai Bagde officially launched the self-enumeration process for the ‘Census 2027’ at Lok Bhawan on Friday. This marks the commencement of the first phase of census activities across the state.
On this occasion, the Governor urged citizens to actively participate in this important national task and ensure accurate and complete information is submitted through the ‘self-enumeration’ facility. He highlighted that the ‘Census Web Portal’ developed by the Government of India is simple, secure, and user-friendly, allowing people to easily fill in their details.
Governor Bagde specifically appealed to the youth and social organizations to assist those unfamiliar with digital platforms, ensuring that no one is left out of this process. He emphasized that public participation in ‘Census 2027’ directly contributes to the inclusive and holistic development of the country.
He also urged citizens to cooperate with enumerators during the upcoming ‘door-to-door survey’, provide accurate information, and utilize helpline services for any doubts or questions.
Officials noted that this will be India’s first fully digital census, with data collection conducted entirely through digital devices. Additionally, citizens will have the option of ‘self-enumeration’ through a secure, web-based system.
Census Director Vishnu Charan Malik stated that the ‘self-enumeration’ facility will be available on the official portal from May 1 to May 15, prior to the ground survey. Citizens can log in using their mobile numbers and necessary details to submit information about themselves and their families. During the launch ceremony, the Governor’s Secretary, Dr. Prithvi, was also present.
Earlier, Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma participated in the ‘self-enumeration’ process initiated under ‘Census 2027’, setting an example for citizens across the state. By visiting the official portal, he filled in his personal information and successfully submitted the required details online, urging citizens to join in this nation-building effort.
Encouraging widespread public participation, the Chief Minister described ‘Census 2027’ as a significant step towards strengthening governance and planning.
