As of May 1, 2026, the total box office collection for films in China has surpassed 13 billion yuan, including pre-sales.
The 2026 May Day film season features a variety of genres, including revolutionary history, action, suspense, comedy, and animation, offering audiences a rich and diverse cinematic feast.
Additionally, during the May Day holiday, China Media Group’s CCTV News launched a media program titled “Travel with Light and Shadow: Following Films on a Journey,” aimed at igniting enthusiasm for cultural tourism and highlighting new experiences in film-themed travel through the popularity of movies.
