Ahmedabad, June 19 (Udaipur Kiran) – The monsoon has arrived in Gujarat. Several areas in South Gujarat and Saurashtra have experienced rainfall. In the past 24 hours, 34 out of 252 tehsils in the state have recorded monsoon rains. Visavadar in Junagadh district has recorded 1.25 inches of rain.
Since Wednesday morning, a rainy atmosphere has been present in South Gujarat, including Surat, Navsari, and Valsad. The region has seen a range of rain from light drizzles to heavy showers. Areas such as Bardoli Station Road, Gandhi Road, Shastri Road, Baben Gam, and Dhamrod have experienced rain. Rain has also been reported in Navsari and Valsad, with heavy showers in villages around Gandevi and Bilimora. The Meteorological Department has predicted moderate to heavy rainfall across the state for the next five days. On Wednesday, rain occurred in Valsad, the Union Territory, as well as Panchmahal, Dahod, and Mahisagar.
From Tuesday morning to Wednesday morning, 33 out of 252 tehsils in the state recorded rainfall. Specific rainfall measurements include 1.25 inches in Visavadar, Junagadh; 21 mm in Thangadh, Surendranagar; 19 mm in Ankleshwar, Bharuch; 16 mm in Rajula, Amreli; 15 mm in Khergam, Navsari; 12 mm in Valsad; 11 mm in Palitana, Bhavnagar; and 10 mm in Kunkavav, Amreli, and Babra. Other tehsils recorded rainfall ranging from 1 to 9 mm.
