Mumbai, February 23: In the world of Bollywood, many stars are frequently in the spotlight for their careers and personal lives, but some choose to live life on their own terms. One such name is Pooja Bhatt, who has made all her life decisions independently.
She firmly states that she wants to live her life as she wishes, free from pressure or societal expectations. Born on February 24, 1972, Pooja Bhatt has remained in the limelight due to her films, controversies, and family background. Despite being the daughter of Mahesh Bhatt, she worked hard to carve out her own identity.
Pooja entered the acting world at the age of 17 with the film ‘Daddy’ and went on to star in several notable films, including ‘Dil Hai Ki Manta Nahin,’ ‘Sadak,’ ‘Zakhm,’ and ‘Sanam Teri Kasam.’ Apart from her professional life, she also garners attention for her personal life.
In 2003, Pooja married Manish Makhija, but after 11 years, they decided to divorce. In an interview, she stated, “I set my life priorities. Whether it’s career decisions or personal relationships, I always put my happiness first. I believe marriage can be a beautiful part of a relationship, but it is not essential for success and happiness in life. My life is not incomplete without marriage. I do what I want.”
In ‘Bigg Boss OTT 2,’ Pooja expressed the pain of her divorce, explaining that the decision to separate was entirely hers. She said, “I did not want to continue the marriage, which is why I decided to part ways. I always wanted to live my life comfortably. That’s why I didn’t want to save my 10 to 11-year relationship. My husband was not a bad person. I felt that in this marriage, I had lost myself, which I could not accept. I wanted to regain myself, and that’s when I made this decision.”
Pooja Bhatt has stepped into various fields, from acting to directing and producing. She has directed and produced films like ‘Jism,’ ‘Paap,’ ‘Dhokha,’ and ‘Kajalare.’
