What is PM Surakshit Matritva Abhiyan?
The Pradhan Mantri Surakshit Matritva Abhiyan (PMSMA) is a nationwide initiative under which free antenatal care is provided to pregnant women on the 9th, 18th, and 27th of every month at all government healthcare facilities.
Under this initiative, pregnant women receive health check-ups, essential medications, and counselling services. As per Dr. Aditya, Udaipur district screens approximately 4,000 to 5,000 pregnant women monthly. The campaign also ensures that every woman undergoes at least four antenatal check-ups during her pregnancy, in line with national guidelines.
All health data is digitally recorded and monitored through an online platform for real-time analysis and follow-up. Udaipur, under Dr. Ashok Aditya’s leadership, has consistently delivered outstanding maternal care outcomes for several years.
