Captain Hasnain Akhtar Martyred During Operation

Tragically, the operation also claimed the life of a brave officer, Captain Hasnain Akhtar, who was leading the mission on the ground. The 24-year-old officer hailed from Jhelum district and is being hailed as a national hero for his courage and leadership. Security officials confirmed that arms and ammunition were recovered from the encounter site, and the area has since been cordoned off for a follow-up clearance operation.

Rising Terror Threat Since Taliban’s Return in Afghanistan

The ISPR noted that Pakistan continues to face heightened security threats following the Taliban’s resurgence in Afghanistan in 2021. The porous border regions, particularly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, have witnessed a spike in terrorist activity, prompting an increase in military operations targeting sleeper cells and active militant groups.

The ongoing efforts of Pakistan’s armed forces reflect a determined approach to restore peace and stability in volatile regions. The sacrifice of officers like Captain Akhtar underscores the high stakes and human cost involved in the nation’s fight against terrorism.
