Oppo introduced the Reno13 and Reno13 Pro in China last November, and just last month, the smartphones made their way to international markets, including India and Vietnam. We recently got our hands on the Oppo Reno13 Pro, and after spending some time with it, here are our first impressions.

Display & Design: A Quad-Curved Beauty With a Few Ergonomic Concerns
The Oppo Reno13 Pro features a 6.83-inch quad-curved AMOLED display with a 2,800×1,272-pixel resolution. It supports 120Hz refresh rate, HDR10+, and boasts 1,200 nits peak brightness. Protecting the screen is Gorilla Glass 7i, ensuring durability.
A punch-hole cutout at the top center houses a 50MP selfie camera with autofocus, which promises sharp selfies. The optical fingerprint scanner embedded in the display is fast and accurate, but its placement close to the bottom bezel isn’t ideal. A slightly higher position would have offered a more natural unlocking experience.
Flipping the device over, the camera island houses three sensors:
- 50MP primary camera (with OIS)
- 50MP telephoto lens (3.5x optical zoom, OIS)
- 8MP ultrawide lens (116˚ field of view)
Adding a unique touch, the camera module is accompanied by an oval-shaped LED flash surrounding a mirror of the same shape, which feels like a design statement rather than a functional necessity.
The Reno13 Pro is available in Pink, Graphite Grey, and Plum Purple (called Mist Lavender in India). Our unit is the Plum Purple variant, featuring an eye-catching swirling plume design on the back. The matte finish with a glittery pattern helps resist fingerprints and smudges, keeping the phone looking pristine.
While the design is undeniably premium and stylish, the combination of a flat back panel and a quad-curved display affects grip comfort. A slightly curved back—similar to what we’ve seen on Vivo’s X200 series—would have improved ergonomics.
Performance & Software: Speedy but Bloated
Under the hood, the Reno13 Pro is powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 8350 SoC, paired with up to 12GB LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB UFS 3.1 storage. The phone runs Android 15-based ColorOS 15 out of the box.
While the overall software experience is smooth, our Indian unit came pre-loaded with nearly 20 third-party apps and games—excluding App Market, Hot Apps, and Hot Games. This level of bloatware isn’t expected on a premium smartphone priced at INR 49,999 ($575/€550). Fortunately, users can uninstall all unwanted apps, but it would have been better if they weren’t included in the first place.
Battery & Charging: Flagship-Level Endurance
One of the standout features of the Oppo Reno13 Pro is its 5,800 mAh battery, which supports:
- 80W wired charging
- 50W wireless charging
This ensures rapid recharging, making the Reno13 Pro a battery powerhouse capable of handling intensive use without breaking a sweat.
Other Features: Fully Loaded
The Reno13 Pro is IP68 and IP69-rated, meaning it offers robust protection against water and dust. Additional features include:
- NFC support for seamless transactions
- IR blaster for controlling home appliances
These small but useful additions elevate the overall experience, making the Reno13 Pro a well-rounded premium device.
Final Thoughts: A Stylish Performer With Room for Refinement
The Oppo Reno13 Pro impresses with its premium design, curved AMOLED display, strong cameras, and long-lasting battery. However, the bloatware issue and slightly uncomfortable grip hold it back from being a near-perfect device.
Would we recommend it? If you prioritize aesthetics, performance, and battery life, the Reno13 Pro is a solid choice. However, those seeking a cleaner software experience and better ergonomics might want to explore alternatives.
