The OnePlus Nord 4 is set to be unveiled by the company at its summer launch event scheduled for next week and details of the phone have now leaked ahead of its launch. This mid-range smartphone will be the device with the longest overall software support time that OnePlus has ever offered, surpassing even more expensive models such as the flagships OnePlus 12 and OnePlus Open. Meanwhile, the company also announced that the OnePlus Nord 4 has a longer battery life than its predecessor.
Announcing the software support period for OnePlus Nord 4
Ahead of OnePlus’ summer launch event on July 16 at 6:30 pm IST, the company has created a microsite on its website to showcase various details of its upcoming devices. The OnePlus Nord 4 is expected to receive four Android OS updates, which is the same number of OS updates as the current generation of the company’s flagship smartphone, the OnePlus 12.
The four-year update period corresponds not only to the OnePlus 12, but also to Samsung’s mid-range smartphones such as the Galaxy A55 and Galaxy A35. Unlike the devices that promise five years of security updates, OnePlus says the Nord 4 will receive six years of security updates. However, the company has not said whether these will be available monthly, bi-monthly or quarterly.
OnePlus Nord battery life specs leaked
OnePlus also confirmed that the Nord 4 will have improved battery life compared to its predecessor, the OnePlus Nord 3. It is certified that the battery retains more than 80% of its capacity for four years after 1,600 charging cycles. According to the company.
Although the company hasn’t revealed all of the smartphone’s specifications, including actual battery capacity, recent reports have given us a pretty good idea of what we can expect from the OnePlus Nord 4. The phone is said to be powered by the 3rd generation Snapdragon 7+ chipset. Manufactured by Qualcomm, the device is powered by a 5,500mAh battery and features a 1.5K AMOLED display. Pricing and availability details will be announced at OnePlus’ summer launch event on July 16.
