
New Delhi: An oil tanker capsized off the coast of Oman on Monday and all 16 crew members, including 13 Indians, were missing, the country’s Maritime Safety Center (MSC) said.
The other three crew members were Sri Lankan.
Located on Oman’s southwest coast, Duqm Port is home to the royal oil and gas production projects, including a large refinery that is part of the vast Duqm Industrial Zone, the largest economic project near Oman.
The ship is currently known as the Prestige Falcon. The search continues, but “the ship’s crew is still missing.”
According to the shipping website marinetraffic.com, this tanker was en route to the port city of Aden in Yemen.
According to shipping data, this vessel is a 117 m long oil product tanker built in 2007.
