Namo Bharat Rapid Rail Network: 8 Corridors to Connect Delhi with Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan

Namo Bharat Rapid Rail Network

New Delhi, October 25, 2026: Delhi is being planned as a major hub for the Namo Bharat Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS), with eight proposed corridors intended to connect key cities across the National Capital Region (NCR) and neighbouring states, including Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan.

The National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) is developing plans for the expanded rapid rail network. According to the report, three major routes are planned to originate from Sarai Kale Khan in the first phase, while additional corridors are proposed for the second phase.

The planned network is expected to improve regional connectivity for commuters travelling between residential areas, industrial centres and major transport hubs.

Delhi-Meerut Corridor May Be Extended to Rishikesh

The Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut Namo Bharat corridor is already operational, with Sarai Kale Khan serving as its main station. Key stations along the route include New Ashok Nagar, Anand Vihar, Sahibabad, Ghaziabad and Meerut.

Plans are being prepared to extend the corridor towards Muzaffarnagar, IIT Roorkee, Haridwar and Rishikesh. The Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the proposed extension is still being prepared.

Delhi-Gurugram-Alwar Corridor

The proposed Delhi-Gurugram-Alwar corridor will be approximately 164 kilometres long. It is planned to connect Delhi with major industrial and commercial areas, including Gurugram, Manesar, Dharuhera, Bawal, Neemrana and Alwar.

Proposed stations include INA, Munirka, Aerocity and Rajiv Chowk in Gurugram. An underground Namo Bharat station is also planned at Aerocity.

The corridor is intended to strengthen transport links between Delhi and important industrial centres in Haryana and Rajasthan.

Delhi-Panipat Corridor

The proposed Delhi-Panipat corridor will cover approximately 103 kilometres. Its planned stations include Indraprastha, Kashmere Gate, Burari, Mukarba Chowk, Narela, Kundli, KMP Interchange, Ganaur, Samalkha and Panipat.

Multimodal transport hubs are planned at Indraprastha and Kashmere Gate to improve connections between different modes of public transport.

The corridor is expected to provide faster regional travel between Delhi and destinations in Haryana.

Ghaziabad-Jewar Airport Corridor

The proposed 72-kilometre corridor will connect Sahibabad and Ghaziabad with Noida International Airport at Jewar via Greater Noida.

The route is intended to improve airport connectivity for passengers travelling from Delhi, Meerut and Ghaziabad. It would also link the airport with the wider regional rapid transit network.

Five More RRTS Corridors Proposed

In addition to the four corridors detailed in the report, five more routes have been proposed for future development:

  1. Delhi-Faridabad-Ballabhgarh-Palwal: Planned to connect Delhi with Faridabad, Ballabhgarh and Palwal.
  2. Delhi-Shahdara-Baraut: Proposed to improve regional connectivity towards Baraut.
  3. Ghaziabad-Khurja: Planned to connect Ghaziabad with Khurja.
  4. Delhi-Bahadurgarh-Rohtak: Proposed to connect Delhi with Bahadurgarh and Rohtak.
  5. Ghaziabad-Hapur: Planned to improve connectivity between Ghaziabad and Hapur.

The proposed eight-corridor network is intended to expand regional rapid rail connectivity across the NCR. However, several routes remain at the planning stage, and their implementation will depend on further project development and approvals.
