Turkey today said that one of its soldiers was killed in northern Syria, the first fatality in its offensive against a Kurdish militia. Turkish Defence Ministry said that three more soldiers were injured in the region. Tens of thousands of people have fled their homes, amid growing international criticism of the offensive.
On the other hand, five European members of the United Nations Security Council demanded Turkey to halt its offensive against Syrian Kurdish forces. NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg also expressed serious concerns today about Turkey’s ongoing operation.
