Udaipur, May 27 (Udaipur Kiran) – Member of Parliament Mannalal Rawat raised several key development issues during the District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) meeting held on Tuesday. He demanded proper development of panchayats included under UDA and urged that no action should be taken by UDA against homestays already constructed in panchayat areas.

Dr. Rawat also strongly raised the demand for allocation of more than 50 acres of land in the district for a marble market. He said special attention is needed for expansion of basic facilities in rural and tribal areas. He stressed speeding up works related to drinking water, roads, healthcare and education, along with regular monitoring of government schemes.
He said development of panchayats included under UDA should be carried out while keeping tribal rights under the PESA Act in mind. Under the Vande Ganga scheme, he called for development, cleaning and preservation of all stepwells in the region.
Dr. Rawat also suggested preparing special livelihood schemes under the G Ram Ji law for the areas of Sayra, Devla, Sulav, Kotra, Nayagaon and Kanbai. Under the Smart City project, he demanded a campaign to stop sewerage leakages and reiterated the need for more than 50 acres of land for the marble market.
He further demanded that projects under the Dharati Aaba Tribal Advanced Village Campaign should be uploaded only on the portal directed by the Government of India. He also called for fisheries work in all reservoirs of the district under the PM Matsya Sampada Yojana, construction of school classrooms under DMFT, and early approvals for roads, water, electricity and livelihood-related works pending due to forest department clearances.
Dr. Rawat also raised issues related to urban development, including restoration work of bawris by the Udaipur Municipal Corporation, organising Swadeshi-related programmes in the district, and special agriculture and livelihood works in the parliamentary cluster area.
He informed that a special custard apple development project approved by the Government of India through his efforts will be implemented in 20 villages of the district. He also demanded establishment of an RDTC in the district in line with skill development projects, training work through the Railmagra-based institute, maintenance of city parks, and quality work on the Gogunda-Ubevarji-Rampura road route.
The MP also sought cleaning and sewerage treatment work near Rundela Talab and Geetanjali area, along with filling vacant doctor posts in the district through DMFT funds.
