New Delhi : Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday praised Chief Justice DY Chandrachud’s statement regarding making Supreme Court judgments available in regional languages. He said that this would help many people especially the youth.

The Prime Minister tweeted that there are many languages in India. It adds to the cultural vibrancy, the central government is making several efforts to encourage Indian languages, he said. This includes giving the option of studying subjects like engineering and medicine in the mother tongue, he added.
He said that in a recent function, the Chief Justice spoke on the need to work towards making available the judgments of the Supreme Court in regional languages. He also suggested the use of technology for this. He said that this is a commendable thought, which will help many people, especially the youth.
