Bhopal, May 30: The spell of unseasonal rain and thunderstorms continued across Madhya Pradesh on the sixth day of Nautapa, a traditionally hot period. The changing weather is being attributed to a low-pressure area over the Bay of Bengal and three active upper-air cyclonic circulations influencing the state.

Forecast: More Isolated Showers Ahead
According to meteorologists P.K. Raikwar and Ajay Shukla, the low-pressure system over the Bay of Bengal has weakened and shifted toward Meghalaya. However, cyclonic circulations over Western Rajasthan, Central and Northwestern Uttar Pradesh continue to impact MP’s weather.
No new system has formed over the Arabian Sea, reducing the likelihood of widespread heavy rainfall in the immediate future.
Areas Likely to Receive Light Rain
The IMD Bhopal center forecasts thunderstorms and light rain on Saturday in parts of Bhopal, Narmadapuram, Jabalpur, Gwalior, Chambal, Rewa, and Shahdol divisions. Cloudy skies and isolated light showers are expected, though rainfall may not be widespread.
With the northern limit of the monsoon reaching Mumbai, Ahilyanagar, Adilabad, Bhawanipatna, Puri, and Balurghat, monsoon advancement is anticipated in the coming days.
