Madhya Pradesh Announces 2% Hike in DA for Employees

Bhopal, October 30: The Madhya Pradesh government has announced a 2% increase in the dearness allowance (DA) for its employees and officials. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav shared this information on the social media platform X.
The increase will take effect from January, providing relief to millions of state government employees. According to the announcement, the arrears for the nine months from January to September will be paid in three equal monthly installments. The enhanced DA will be disbursed in cash along with the October salary, which will be paid in November.
Pensioners will also benefit from this decision, with a 2% increase in their dearness allowance starting from July 2026. The government has expressed its commitment to safeguarding the interests of both serving and retired employees. This decision is expected to alleviate the financial burden on employees amid rising inflation.
Recently, the central government also raised the dearness allowance for its employees. Officials indicated that this increase aligns with the formula linked to the All India Consumer Price Index, reflecting the government’s intention to regularly adjust allowances based on inflation trends.
Employees from various departments, including education, health, police, and revenue, will benefit from these revised DA rates. The cash payment of the increased allowance will be made with the October salary, while the arrears will be paid in installments to manage the financial burden on the state’s treasury.
Pensioners will begin receiving the revised dearness allowance from July 2026. The government has emphasized that the welfare of retired employees is a priority, and adjustments will continue to be made periodically.
Chief Minister Mohan Yadav reiterated the government’s commitment to ensuring that employees and pensioners receive their rightful benefits without unnecessary delays. The finance department is expected to issue detailed official orders soon, outlining the exact rates and implementation methods to ensure smooth payment across all departments.
