Udaipur: Elections for the post of president of the Lake City Press Club were held on Sunday at the Press Club building in Chetak. Out of 148 eligible voters, 138 members cast their votes in the polling held from 12 noon to 2 pm. Two votes were declared invalid.
Election coordinator Rafiq M Pathan informed that the election process was conducted under the leadership of Election Officer Advocate Arun Vyas. The nomination process was held from 10 am to 11 am for the voting process, in which Bhagwan Prajapati and Kuldeep Singh Gehlot submitted their applications for the post of president.
After this, by 11.30 am, after the scrutiny of nomination papers and the end of the withdrawal period, since there were two candidates in the field, the election process was adopted. Voting took place from 12 noon to 2 pm, in which club members enthusiastically cast their votes. Counting of votes started after 2 pm. In which Bhagwan Prajapati got 29 votes while Kuldeep Singh Gehlot got 107 votes. Kuldeep Singh Gehlot won by 78 votes.
The election officer handed over the election certificate to the victorious Kuldeep Singh Gehlot. Former president Kapil Shrimal congratulated the victorious Kuldeep Singh and said that elections are a process. All journalists are together and the development work of the club will be taken forward with unity. The Udaipur Kiran family extended hearty congratulations and best wishes to Kuldeep Singh.
