Udaipur : A 6-year-old kid died while atleast 8 children were hurt when their school bus overturned on the school way near a toll plaza at Manawaton ka Guda village in Charbhuja of Rajsamand district on Wednesdaymorning. The vehicle was carrying 20 children to school when the unfortunate incident took place. Break failure was said to be the reason for the accident and the driver lost control over the steering.
The bus overturned in the middle of the road. Gaurav (6) so Mahendra Mali resident of Aonwali ki Bhagal died on the spot after sustaining serious head injury while two other children Mahesh Tiwari (14) a student of class nine , and a fourth grader Hitesh Tiwari (10) sustained serious injuries. The school bus belonged to Mahapragya Academy in Charbhuja. The bus driver couldnt control the bus after the brakes failed. The bus hit a tree and overturned in the middle of the road causing a major commotion.
The terrified children screamed for help. According to eyewitnesses, it was a horrifying scene as children cried out in pain and the bags, tiffin boxes andwater bottles layed scattered here and there on the road with blood all over. The kids were rushed to the civil hospital. Anxiety and commotion prevailed as parents and relatives beelined at the hospital premises. Children who sustained minor injuries were discharged after primary treatment, sources said.
