Kherwara Police Bust Major Illegal Liquor Smuggling Operation; Three Arrested
Udaipur (Kiran News) – In a major crackdown on illegal liquor smuggling, Kherwara police have arrested three accused and seized a large consignment of Rajasthan-made English liquor. The action was taken on Saturday near Toll Naka Khandi Obri during a checkpoint operation.

Under the direction of Superintendent of Police Yogesh Goyal and led by Station Officer Dalpat Singh Rathore, the police team intercepted a white Maruti Swift (registration number RJ 20 CF 6025) with three youths onboard. Upon questioning, the occupants identified themselves as Mohabbat Singh (resident of Sawalpura, Bhadesar, Chittorgarh), Yashpal Singh (resident of Tiroli, Gangapur, Bhilwara; currently residing in Falichada, Fatehnagar, Udaipur), and Ravindra Singh (resident of Devji Ka Kheda, Fatehnagar, Udaipur).
During the search, the police found 21 cartons of Rajasthan-made English liquor inside the car. They also recovered three different number plates belonging to Gujarat and Rajasthan, which the suspects admitted were used to mislead authorities during transportation.
The seized liquor is estimated to be worth around ₹3 lakh, and the car’s value is about ₹8 lakh. In total, goods worth approximately ₹11 lakh were confiscated.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the accused were transporting the illegal liquor from Udaipur to Ahmedabad, Gujarat. The police have registered a case against the trio under relevant sections of the Excise Act (19/54), and further investigation is underway.
