Mumbai, October 17 (Udaipur Kiran): Rishab Shetty’s ‘Kantara Chapter 1’ continues its strong run at the box office, though its earnings witnessed a slight slowdown on the 15th day after release. The film, which has been dominating both domestic and overseas markets, remains among the top-grossing Indian films of 2025.

According to box office tracker Sanilk, the film collected ₹10.5 crore on its 14th day, while the 15th day figures stood at around ₹9 crore, marking the first time its single-day earnings dropped to single digits. With this, the film’s total India collection has reached ₹485.40 crore.
Despite the dip, ‘Kantara Chapter 1’ has already surpassed this year’s second-highest grosser ‘Saiyara’ (₹329 crore) and now trails only behind Vicky Kaushal’s blockbuster ‘Chhava’, which has earned ₹601.54 crore to date. The Rishab Shetty-starrer now needs ₹116.14 crore more to break that record — a target that industry analysts say is achievable if the film gains momentum over the third weekend.
Interestingly, though primarily a Kannada-language film, ‘Kantara Chapter 1’ has performed exceptionally well in the Hindi belt, reflecting its growing pan-India appeal.
The coming week will be crucial in determining how long the film can sustain its theatrical momentum. From October 21, it will face fresh competition from two new releases — Ayushmann Khurrana’s ‘Thama’ and Harshvardhan Rane’s ‘Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat’. Until then, ‘Kantara Chapter 1’ continues to enjoy a strong and relatively unchallenged box office window.
